Carlos Diaz Ruiz Presented the Threat of Agentic Disinformation at the Stockholm School of Economics

On 12 February 2026, Associate Professor Carlos Diaz Ruiz spoke at the Stockholm School of Economics (Sweden) at the event «Ignoring Antagonistic Information Threats: Cost and Evidence from Ukraine». The event brought together members of the expert community to discuss the Ukrainian experience in addressing disinformation and influence operations.

During his participation, Carlos Diaz Ruiz discussed the disinformation economy, explaining how sources that spread disinformation derive financial benefits from digital marketing infrastructure, particularly through the architecture of advertising technologies (AdTech). Brands are inadvertently funding fake news and disinformation with their budgets.
