Plenary: Rethinking Resilience in a Changing World

On 30 June 2026, Associate Professor Carlos Diaz Ruiz spoke at the conference Frontiers in Service 2026 in Helsinki. He participated as a keynote speaker at the plenary event «Rethinking Resilience in a Changing World», which brought together members of the expert community to discuss resilience as the capacity to face disruptions such as the series of crises we have faced over the past ten years. The discussion examined how we can build more resilient futures in an increasingly volatile world.

Professor Johanna Gummerus moderated the plenary session, which included Professor Sarah Schiffling, the deputy director of the HUMLOG Institute, and Christian Fjäder, a distinguished expert in geostrategy, national security, and societal resilience, currently serving as the Head of Research at the Economic Security Forum (ESF) and Professor of Practice at the Hanken School of Economics.

During his participation, Carlos Diaz Ruiz discussed the notion of resilience to disinformation. He explained how building more equitable digital markets, especially in programmatic advertising and the creator economy, can help strengthen our informational environment against strategic influence campaigns.
